Jeremy Mayes – Four corners of the page

Jeremy, a Nottingham-based artist, has over the past 15 years developed a style of oil painting that verges on both the gothic and fairy tale story-telling. The imaginary landscapes are drawn essentially from our everyday surroundings viewed through a combined unusual perspective, layered texture and dynamic colour.

Jeremy’s love of the early expressionists and post impressionists such as Cezanne and Gaugin inspired him. As a lover of Monty Python, Hammer House of Horror and even quantum physics have all influenced his artistic ideology.

Self-taught, Jeremy’s work suggests there is perhaps more there than we initially perceive. This exhibition is a mix of limited edition prints and oil paintings.
